How the legends of lacquer miniature painting fell in love with 'Atomic Heart'
Lacquer miniature painting in Fedoskino has existed since the end of the 18th century and has already become a legendary folk craft. Modern craftsmen continue the tradition of painting on the theme of Russian folk tales, but they also cooperate with contemporary artists.
Today they are conquering another reality - they have launched a joint collection with the creators of the popular video game ‘Atomic Heart’. Its plot takes place in an alternative Soviet Union, where, thanks to the invention of a special polymer, they have established the production of robots that are used in almost all spheres of life. The main character, Major Nechaev, is tasked with investigating a massive machine failure at an enterprise that produces robots.
The lids of the boxes from the collaboration are adorned with a robot ballerina in a tutu (doesn’t she just look like the heroine from the ‘The Nutcracker’?!), who also hands Major Nechayev a priceless firebird and rushes across the snowy expanses on a troika of frisky horses.
