Learn the Russian letter ‘Ю’!
Meet another unique Russian letter: this time we're looking at 'Ю'.
It may sound as [ju] or [u], depending on its place in the word. We pronounce it [ju] when it's at the beginning of the word, after a vowel, or the letters ‘ь’ or ‘ъ’.
In all other cases, the pronounciation will be [u], while the consonant before it becomes soft (such as in the word ‘любовь’ [l’ubov’] - ‘love’).
