1. He helps you with “manly” things
In Russia, men don’t make Hollywood-like declarations of love, but show their attitude with actions. For example, if you mention that you have a leaky faucet or need to assemble a shelf, a man in love will offer you help. From time to time, however, he may grumble and scold the “craftsmen” who tinkered with it before him.
2. He cooks for you
In Russian culture, food is a symbol of caring. Russian men cook no worse and, sometimes, even better than women; they just don't show it to every woman in their lives. So, if you end up at his place and there's borsch or some pies on the stove, it's definitely a sign of great sympathy. If he can't cook, he'll just share his food at a cafe, coaxing you to try his dish.

Firstly, it means that he has already told them about you. Secondly, they also want to be friends with you. “Gifts” can be anything from homemade pickles from his mom to a cutting board that his brother made with his own hands or a painting from his sister and so on.
