The fastest way to get from this airport to the center of Moscow is the Moscow Metro subway system (yellow line), which has a station right in the airport terminal. Tickets cost 63 rubles (approx. $0.70). You can buy it at the ticket office at the station in cash or with a Russian debit/credit card.

Be sure to check out our handy guide on how to use the Moscow Metro

2. City bus

City bus № 911 goes from the ‘Salaryevo’ subway station (red line) to Vnukovo Airport.

Travel time is 18-20 minutes, traffic interval is 10-15 minutes. Tickets cost 63 rubles (~$0.70) and can be purchased with a Russian debit/credit card or a ‘Troika’ card.

At night (11:30 pm-4.30 am), you can get to the city center via the N11 city bus. The ticket price is the same, however, note that Moscow buses do not accept cash.

3. Express suburban train

From Vnukovo, you can get to the ‘Kievsky’ railway station on the express train. Travel time is about 35-40 minutes. The train runs every hour from 6:15 am to 11:15 pm, according to the schedule.

The ticket costs 300 rubles (~$3.50). You can buy it at the station (which is inside the airport terminal) in cash.

4. Taxi

If you arrive late at night, you can take a taxi. The trip from the airport to the city center will cost about $50 or more, if you try to order a taxi on the spot.

But, you can book a taxi for cheaper (about $20-$30) using the following apps:

– ‘Yandex GO’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (many languages).

– ‘Uber’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (many languages)

– ‘City Mobil’ iOS/Google Play /AppGallery (available in English).

You can choose payment in cash, if you don’t have a Russian debit/credit card.

When you arrive at the airport, you can get online with free Wi-Fi in the terminal and book a taxi. The driver will probably ask you to call after passing through passport control, because waiting in front of the airport is free only for the first 15 minutes and then it gets quite expensive.

5. Car sharing

Several car-sharing companies are available at Vnukovo. You need an ID, a driver’s license, a Russian debit/credit card and a smartphone with a Russian SIM card. You’ll also need to sign a contract with a company, in order to access their vehicles (you can also do this online). The leading companies are: ‘Delimobil’; ‘Yandex.Drive’; and ‘BelkaCar’. You should download the apps in advance to find the nearest car.

6. Rent a car

At Vnukovo Airport, you’ll also find ‘Rentmotors’ and ‘REX Rent’ services. You can rent a car online or by visiting the rental office. Booking in advance doesn’t influence the price much, but it does provide a greater choice of car models.

Go to the airport’s website for more information.
