Do you want to blend into Russian society? Then, let's learn some short abbreviations for cities that we use in messages when chatting with someone!

P.S. There are more additional options for informal speech:

Санкт-Петербург is Питер,

Нижний Новгород is simply Нижний,

Ekaterinburg is Екат,

while Москва doesn’t change.
