Foreigners get to study in Russia for FREE following the results of the int’l ‘Open Doors Olympiad’

More than 6,000 foreigners have won prizes at the ‘Open Doors Olympiad’, which was held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

About 1,400 winners received the right to study free of charge in Russian universities under a quota established by the Russian government and more than 4,600 people who won prizes will be able to study at budget departments, if there are free places in the chosen specialties. 

The organizing universities include MGIMO, Higher School of Economics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Tyumen State University, ITMO University and many others. 

The Olympiad was held online in Russian and English. The most popular areas this year were the profiles ‘Computer & Data Sciences’, ‘Business & Management’, ‘Engineering & Technology’, ‘Clinical Medicine & Public Health’.

A total of 146,000 people from 185 countries took part in it. The Olympiad, aimed at attracting talented youth from all over the world to Russia, was held for the eighth time.
