Gagarin’s Historic Spaceflight (VIDEO)

On April 12, 1961, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin made the first human flight into space. The spacecraft launched at 6:07 from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. As it took off, Gagarin shouted his now-iconic catchphrase 'Poekhali!' - or 'Let’s go!' in Russian.
