Honey, eggs and flour. That's mainly what you need to bake a Russian 'pryanik', a kind of gingerbread, which is actually made without ginger. 

And most Russian regions had plenty of those ingredients available, so most regions have their own version of the ‘pryanik’. But, it so happened that the Tula ‘pryanik’ became the most famous one!

It has been known since the end of the 17th century and comes in different shapes and sizes. However, the most common is a rectangle with an inscription glazed on top and a sweet filling (jam or condensed milk).
