Foreigners stay in Russia without a visa is now 90 days a year

From January 2025, foreigners who travel to Russia in a manner that does not require a visa will be able to stay in the country for up to 90 days within a calendar year, the Russian Foreign Ministry reports. Previously, this period was 90 days within 180 days. 

The new rules apply to citizens of those countries that have a visa-free agreement with Russia. A list of them can be found here. 

The only exceptions are certain cases stipulated by Law No. 115-FZ ‘On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation’.

At the same time, the period of temporary stay of foreigners arriving in Russia on a valid visa is, as before, determined by the length of the visa issued to them.
