In that same boat, from December 2018 to May 2019, he traveled from New Zealand to Cape Horn in Chile and covered 6,400 nautical miles (11,525 km) in 154 days to become the first person in history to manage to complete such a crossing.

Four years later, the traveler decided to go from Cape Horn to Albany, Australia, from the Western hemisphere to the Eastern hemisphere. He had to cross two oceans, the South Atlantic and the South Indian Ocean.

In November 2024, Konyukhov's boat was delivered to the Argentine port of Ushuaia and, at dawn on December 5, he set off from Drake Passage towards Australia. In the South Atlantic Ocean, meanwhile, he celebrated his 73rd birthday.

On the night of February 11, 68 days after the beginning of the dangerous and difficult journey, Konyukhov's boat passed the South African Cape Agulhas and entered the Indian Ocean – a new record!
There are still 4,200 nautical miles to cover before the final point of the voyage – Cape Leeuwin in Western Australia.
